Investment
Therapy is an investment into yourself.
I am out-of-network for most insurances, but this doesn’t mean you can’t work with me! You likely have out-of-network benefits which means that insurance will reimburse you for a portion of the session cost. This typically allows clients to save on average between 50%-70% on our sessions. During our consultation process, I can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your co-insurance would be.
Here’s how Out-of-Network benefits work:
You directly pay me the service fee up front (You can use cash, credit, debit, Health Savings Account/Flexible Spending Account).
I provide you with a superbill (a receipt) that you submit as a claim to your insurance provider. If you need help knowing how to do this, I can walk you through it.
Your insurance provider will reimburse you up to a percentage of our fee (usually anywhere from 50%-70% of the allowed amount).
I currently accept these insurances:
—First Choice and Kaiser PPO.
I accept cash, credit, debit, a Health Savings Account, or Flexible Spending Account.
Fees:
Intake: $225
50- Minute Therapy Session: $185
90- Minute Therapy Session: $275
Sliding Scale: I do offer very limited sliding scale spots. This is for folks who cannot pay the full fee. My sliding scale rate is between $135 - $185. Feel free to contact me to see if spots are available.
Why I Don’t Take Most Insurance Plans
The decision to leave most insurance companies was not a decision I took lightly. I knew it would impact the current clients I had to leave their insurance provider and to tell future clients that I didn’t take theirs.
So why did I?
Over the past few years, it became increasingly noticeable that insurance companies strongly push their contracted providers towards short-term, surface level therapy for clients. They require a diagnoses and lengthly documentation to justify that diagnoses at every session. I prefer not to pathologize or categorize my clients based on criteria defined by the insurance company.
Instead, I want to remain committed to the long-term work I do with clients in which we are doing deeper, nervous-system regulating, attachment-focused, trauma work. I want to offer my clients the time they need to work through whatever they’re facing and whatever pace they need.
I remain committed to the work of the client. Being a direct fee-for-service provider means we cut out the middle-man and make our way in a more collaborative, relational way.
This is where therapy becomes an investment into yourself and for no one else. If this is what you’re looking for, please contact me and lets begin the work.
